SUMMARY:Shamatha Meditation
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This class is based on precious\, authentic and original teachings of the Buddha\, the Shamatha Meditation based on the Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy. The word shamatha (in Sanskrit samatha) means “calmly abiding”\, as this meditation helps our mind to become peaceful\, stable\, clear\, aware and harmonious. The Shamatha Meditation is for beginners and teachers of meditation\, for those who are aspiring to seek self-realization or who look for ways to remove the causes of their own suffering\, or who wish to achieve a state of peace. There are no pre-requisites for this class. Each student will benefit according to their motivation. \nThe purpose of shamatha meditation is to stabilize the mind by cultivating a steady awareness. When we practice calm abiding meditation\, we are able to see that our mind is full of thoughts\, some conducive to our wellbeing\, and others not. Over time\, practicing calm abiding meditation calms our thoughts and emotions. We experience tranquility of mind. Unless one has the stability of the mind of calm abiding\, one can never gain the wisdom. \nIt is well known that the primary purpose of the Buddha’s teachings is to attain enlightenment by practicing two forms of meditation: concentration meditation and analytical meditation. The first aims at achieving calm abiding (shamatha) while the second aspires to gaining special insight (vipassana). A mind that is pacified while abiding in single-pointed concentration is referred to as the state of calm-abiding. When such a state is attained\, special insight becomes possible. This particular form of wisdom\, when coupled with the bliss of meditative suppleness induced by the power of contemplation\, is capable of discerning every phenomenon. In other words\, calm-abiding is the temporary cessation of mental disruptions of the mind. By calming the mind\, it becomes clearer. This allows for profound analysis of wisdom to completely eliminate the very root of these mental disruptions.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1551147797089{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”]Content:  \n\nPreparation for meditation\nSimple vs. authentic Shamatha Meditation\nConditions for Shamatha Meditation\nBenefits of Shamatha Meditation\n5 obstacles to calm-abiding and 8 antidotes\nNine stages of Shamatha Meditation\nAchieving the six powers\nSpecial insight or wisdom\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1585753837043{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]The life story of the Buddha begins in Lumbini\, near the border of Nepal and India\, about 2\,600 years ago\, where the man Siddharta Gautama was born. Although born a prince\, he realized that conditioned experiences could not provide lasting happiness. After a long spiritual search he went into deep meditation\, where he realized the nature of mind. He achieved the state of unconditional and lasting bliss: the state of enlightenment\, of buddhahood. This state of mind is free from disturbing emotions and expresses itself through peace\, happiness and active compassion. \n“Knowing that the mind’s afflictions are overcome through penetrating insight suffused with stable calm\, you should first seek the peace of calm abiding\, which is found in joy and non-attachment for the world.” – Śāntideva \nBuddha Shakyamuni transmitted teachings to Maitreya and Manjushri\, and respectively to Asanga and Nagarjuna\, who then transmitted them to the two Lamas\, Serlingpa (Suvarnadvipi-Dharmakirti of the Golden Isles) from Indonesia and Rikpekouyouk (Vidyakokila the Elder). These two teaching lineages were united in the 11th century by the Indian Master\, Atisha Dipamkara\, who devoted himself for seventeen years to the Dharma and the people of Tibet. He in turn transmitted the teachings to his principal spiritual son\, the Tibetan master Dromtonpa. These instructions outlined the fundamentals of the path\, namely calm-abiding (shamatha) and special insight (vipassana). Atisha wrote the original text\, A Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment\, in which he extracted the essence of teachings of the Buddha and organized 84\,000 sutras into a clear\, step-like arrangement that makes it easy for an individual practitioner to understand and practice the Dharma. This genre of teachings is known as Lamrim\, or steps of the path. These were then carefully preserved and passed on in an interrupted lineage of masters to Lama Tsongkhapa (1357-1419). The Gelugpa (Gelug or Yellow Hat) school of Tibetan Buddhism practices revolve around the teachings of Atisha and Tsongkhapa. The 14th Dalia Lama\, His Holiness the Tenzin Gyatso follows the Gelugpa school. Brana received transmission of teachings in this lineage from a Tibetan Lama. \nRead MORE. \nFees= $250+tax\nE-transfer $287.42 to transfer@divineyu.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

SUMMARY:Activate 10 Sefirot Kabbalah Meditations
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1538934638766{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702587193621{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Kabbalah offers a map of creation\, from the first intention down to the swirling mass of matter\, which we now understand as the basis of quantum physics. We’ll use the central symbol of Kabbalah\, the Tree of Life\, as a source of meditation to help us better understand different aspects of ourselves. The Sefirot are ten attributes through which the Divine manifests itself. One may say that the Sefirot has two basic functions\, one as lights that serve to reveal and express\, and another as vessels that define the light so that specific qualities are manifest. By understanding Sefirot’s interrelationships\, we can relate to the process of the Creation and the operation of the universe.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550807533492{margin-top: 30px !important;margin-bottom: 0px !important;padding-top: 20px !important;padding-bottom: 20px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_cta h2=”” h4=”The Tree of Sefirot” shape=”round” style=”flat” css=”.vc_custom_1550864589519{margin-top: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”] \n\nKether – Crown\nChochmah – Wisdom\nBinah – (Intellectual) Understanding\nChesed – Loving-Kindness\nGeburah – Healthy Discernment\nTiphareth – Beauty & Harmony\nNetzach – Endurance\nHod – Gratitude\nYesod – Foundation\nMalchut – Physical Reality\n\n[/vc_cta][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”3594″ img_size=”200×370″ alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550803622108{margin-top: 30px !important;margin-bottom: 30px !important;padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”כתר – Kether” description=”Crown”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702587294925{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nThe Tree of the Sefirot is considered the link between heaven and earth. The head of Kether is rooted in Ein Sof\, the Divine nature of the Creator. Because of this Keter is incomprehensible and indescribable\, it is called “the most hidden of all hidden things.” At the moment of manifestation\, the Will of the absolute is signified by a dimensionless point of light\, coming out of the veil of non-existence. A Crown is a kabbalistic symbol to describe that dimensionless point between manifest and unmanifest. Such a crown is hollow and through its center passes everything that is to come into being – everything that was\, is\, and will be. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550802506927{margin-bottom: 30px !important;padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”חכמה – Chochmah” description=”Wisdom”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702587332890{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nDeveloping Intuition. Chohmah is the uppermost of the sephirot of the right line in the kabbalistic Tree of Life. It is to the bottom right of Keter\, with Binah across from it. Chohmah has 2 faces\, one facing Kether above\, and the other facing below. One aspect is communion with the Divine to increase our wisdom\, and the other to teach others this wisdom. It’s associated with our intuition. It’s the potential of “what is”\, the flesh of inspiration or the life force of all Creation. \nChohmah is associated with our right brain function and is on the masculine side of the Tree of Life. Chohmah is pure potential. It is an idea waiting to be developed\, the beginning of the process. It’s not possible to intellectually inquire above the level of Chohmah. Higher aspects of Creation do not come through intellectual channels but from pure formless consciousness. “Wisdom comes from nothingness.” \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550802506927{margin-bottom: 30px !important;padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”בינה – Binah” description=”Understanding”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702587368570{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nBinah is the uppermost feminine element. Having received the seed from Chohmah\, Binah conceived and gave birth to the seven lower Sefirot. In our mind\, we first activate our Chohmah (idea) and then our Binah (how to make it happen). Binah is the meticulous systemizing and quantifying of the solution that Chohmah has conceived. It is here that we touch and understand the mysteries of birth and death for what they are. Once we put Chohmah and Binah together\, we have knowledge (Daat). Binah consciousness is being here and now\, one does not dwell on the past or future. Here we gain mastery over emotional reactions and bring a new sense of mental calmness. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550802506927{margin-bottom: 30px !important;padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”חסד – Chesed” description=”Loving-Kindness”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702587425160{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nRight Arm. Chesed is associated with the desire to embrace all of Creation and bestow upon it goodness. Chesed is considered the first “day” of Creation. The Divine consciousness of this day is that all of Creation is one as embraced\, in love\, by the Oneness of the Creator. \nThe first day\, the day of loving-kindness\, “accompanies” and radiates its light to all the other days of Creation. Being first carries within itself a property that no other element in the universe possesses. Every action in the universe has a cause\, except that which is the first one. Chesed is the first step of action\, it’s preceded only by “thought”. \nChesed also describes the beginning of any relationship of the Creator to human. The underlying foundation of all existence is a gift based on unconditional love. No person ever merited his / her own existence. In other words\, the Creator owes us nothing. We were given love and life with no conditions and it’s up to us how well we’ll use it. Purity of motive is intrinsic to Chesed. As soon as there is a motivation “for something”\, it has ceased being Chesed. There is a strong message in the positive correspondences for Chesed: without humility and love\, leadership and power become the instruments of the human race self-destruction driven by greed & vanity. We would know this sefirot as Agape\, Divine Love. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550802506927{margin-bottom: 30px !important;padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”גבורה – Gevurah” description=”Healthy Discernment\, Strength\, Courage\, Fairness\, Attribute of Justice.”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702587507712{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nIt’s the second of the emotive attributes of the sefirot. Positive Geburah is the ability to make sound decisions- detached\, impartial\, sensible\, clear\, true\, and very powerful. It’s about the strength to restrain one’s innate urge to bestow goodness upon others when the recipient misuses it\, which leads to karmic repercussions for the giver and the receiver. \nI’ll teach how to use safely the strength of this sefirot. When self-criticism and criticism of other people are over-emphasized\, it has the potential to create what we call in the physical world- evil. In its extreme expression\, it can become very judgmental. Our ability to handle and direct the energies of balanced discernment depends on to what degree we have acquired stability within ourselves. In other words\, the interplay between unconditional love and discernment drives the Cause and Effect principle. If there was no Geburah\, there would be no human accountability to its Creator. Too much and or only loving-kindness would lead to behavior unrestricted by any moral values. It would negate the need for people to actively use their free will to choose the good. \nIf Chesed is the irrepressibly expanding impulse of love and growth\, then Geburah is the counteracting restraint and concentration. Geburah could be called the “warriors” Sefirot for indeed the symbol that it represents is that of transformation. We use discernment to say “Enough”\, “No” without feeling guilty\, to stand up for ourselves\, and to set healthy boundaries. It’s the sphere where we learn to overcome the opposition. It also teaches us responsibility and respect for the use of these great energies. We’ll look at the kindness and unaccountability of Chesed\, versus the accountability of Geburah. Balancing loving kindness and discernment becomes an everyday task for each human. As opposite forces\, Chesed and Geburah must balance one another to preserve order in the universe. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550802506927{margin-bottom: 30px !important;padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”תפארת – Tiphareth” description=”Beauty & Harmony”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702587673475{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nTipheret is about the beauty and appreciation of ongoing creation. It’s related to our heart\, whose central position in the torso mediates between right and left\, Chesed (“unconditional love” associated with giving) and Geburah (“discernment” associated with receiving). It’s about learning to see an issue through another’s point of view and to be able to incorporate that perspective into our worldview. \nTipharet is the sefirot that unites the upper nine strengths. It’s considered the primary attribute of the Creator. Its goal is the development of human beings to their greatest potential. Tipharet is not a “compromise”\, but a synthesis or an integration of Chesed and Geburah\, with its new characteristics. Tipheret is sometimes associated with the idea of a tzaddik\, someone who goes through the world doing good\, making wise decisions\, and creating harmony. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550802506927{margin-bottom: 30px !important;padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”נצח – Netzach” description=”Perseverance”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550802506927{margin-bottom: 30px !important;padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”הוד – Hod” description=”Splendor\, Spiritual Surrender\, Awe\, Gratitude\, Humility”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702589000750{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nHod is about the process of aligning the Human and Divine Will\, feeling awe\, trusting the universe\, letting go\, the source of humbleness\, a conduit through which grace is given. It’s about the state of sincerity. Netzach and Hod unite in Yesod\, which is the foundation of creativity and productivity. When we are experiencing an expansive moment of Hod\, we need to understand that it will not last forever. Hod moments give us the juice to keep going on; Netzach is the going on itself. On the more mundane planes\, we can understand Hod as inspiration\, and Netzach as perspiration. Hod are those moments of insight at which we sing and shout “Awwww!” Netzach is the rest of the time. Whereas Chesed and Geburah signify unbounded loving-kindness and its constriction so that beings can receive according to their ability\, Netzach and Hod are the two Sefirot that define the ability of the recipient to receive. Chesed\, Geburah\, and Tipareth manifest in the upper part of the body\, in the arms and torso. With the energies of Netzach and Hod (which correspond to the right and left hips / legs / feet\, respectively) we can learn to be firmly grounded even while we are striving for great heights. At the same time\, we won’t lose sight of our capabilities despite our yearning for things beyond. Netzech and Hod adapt a subtle concept of the Creator’s mind and modify it to match the capacity of the student. They determine how things should be presented so that teachings are understood. They serve as tools or vessels for applications of kindness\, justice\, and compassion in the world. Unlike the upper sefirot\, which acts as a stimulant of will and reason\, those sefirot follow the casual order\, they provide a sort of a distribution measure of loving-kindness. Netzach and Hod (the right and left legs)\, can only perform their function if they walk–together. They teach us that it’s not sufficient that we as humans have individual desires\, intellects\, and emotions\, we are also invited to build something of enduring value in arts\, culture\, spirituality\, community\, etc. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550802506927{margin-bottom: 30px !important;padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”יסוד – Yesod” description=”Foundation”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702589177120{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nYesod and Malkut in Kabbalah: How to stay grounded on a spiritual path. Sometimes we have taken our spirituality so seriously that we have forgotten to have fun in life. Spiritual people can be sensitive to other people’s feelings and are often thinking about how to save the world. From there it’s not an easy transition to having fun and seeing the light side of life\, yet we need that as human beings. I’ll teach you how to combine joy with spirituality. Eating live nutrition\, gardening\, crystals\, spring water\, and walking in nature can help us stay balanced and grounded. The fundamental nature of Yesod is that of interface; it interfaces the rest of the Tree of Life to Malkuth. The interface is bi-directional; impulses are coming down from Kether\, and echoes bounce back from Malkuth. The virtue of Yesod is independence\, the ability to make our foundations\, to continually rebuild ourselves\, to reject the security of comfortable illusions\, and to confront reality without blinking. The vice of Yesod is idleness. This can be contrasted with the inertia of Malkuth. A stone is inert because it cannot change. Yesod collects the vital forces of the sephirot above and transmits these creative and vital energies into the feminine Malkuth below. Yesod channels\, Malkuth receives. In turn\, it is through Malkuth that the Earth can interact with the divinity. In other words\, the foundation (Yesod) of a building is its “grounding\,” its union with the earth (Malkuth). \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550803674732{padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3592″ title=”מלכות – Malchut” description=”Physical Reality”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1702589226485{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nMalkuth completes the chain of the sefirot. It’s associated with the physical realm. Malkuth gives tangible form to the other emanations. If we imagine the first three sefirot to be an idea arising in the mind\, the second three to be the stirrings in the heart as it weighs and evaluates it\, and the third three to be the qualities of action that bring it into being\, then Malkuth is its actual being; its manifestation. Yesod has gathered together all of the energies of creation — and then it creates. Malkuth is the result. \nIn human terms\, your Malkuth aspect corresponds to the fruits of your labor: that which happens out there in the world\, once you’re finished willing and deciding and creating. Malkuth is also Shechinah\, Presence\, the Divine feminine. She is the Earth mating with the sky. The Divine male and female in Kabbalah are experienced through spirit and body in a single individual. This is exemplified in the Hermetic maxim ‘As above so below’\, and “Kether is in Malkuth\, and Malkuth is in Kether”. What’s higher on a Kabbalistic hierarchy is not more important than what is below. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
