SUMMARY:Meditate like the Buddha
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This class is based on precious\, authentic and original teachings of the Buddha\, the Shamatha Meditation based on the Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy. The word shamatha (in Sanskrit samatha) means “calmly abiding”\, as this meditation helps our mind to become peaceful\, stable\, clear\, aware and harmonious. The Shamatha Meditation is for beginners and teachers of meditation\, for those who are aspiring to seek self-realization or who look for ways to remove the causes of their own suffering\, or who wish to achieve a state of peace. There are no pre-requisites for this class. Each student will benefit according to their motivation. \nThe purpose of shamatha meditation is to stabilize the mind by cultivating a steady awareness. When we practice calm abiding meditation\, we are able to see that our mind is full of thoughts\, some conducive to our wellbeing\, and others not. Over time\, practicing calm abiding meditation calms our thoughts and emotions. We experience tranquility of mind. Unless one has the stability of the mind of calm abiding\, one can never gain the wisdom. \nIt is well known that the primary purpose of the Buddha’s teachings is to attain enlightenment by practicing two forms of meditation: concentration meditation and analytical meditation. The first aims at achieving calm abiding (shamatha) while the second aspires to gaining special insight (vipassana). A mind that is pacified while abiding in single-pointed concentration is referred to as the state of calm-abiding. When such a state is attained\, special insight becomes possible. This particular form of wisdom\, when coupled with the bliss of meditative suppleness induced by the power of contemplation\, is capable of discerning every phenomenon. In other words\, calm-abiding is the temporary cessation of mental disruptions of the mind. By calming the mind\, it becomes clearer. This allows for profound analysis of wisdom to completely eliminate the very root of these mental disruptions.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1551147797089{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”]Content:  \n\nPreparation for meditation\nSimple vs. authentic Shamatha Meditation\nConditions for Shamatha Meditation\nBenefits of Shamatha Meditation\n5 obstacles to calm-abiding and 8 antidotes\nNine stages of Shamatha Meditation\nAchieving the six powers\nSpecial insight or wisdom\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1585753837043{margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]The life story of the Buddha begins in Lumbini\, near the border of Nepal and India\, about 2\,600 years ago\, where the man Siddharta Gautama was born. Although born a prince\, he realized that conditioned experiences could not provide lasting happiness. After a long spiritual search he went into deep meditation\, where he realized the nature of mind. He achieved the state of unconditional and lasting bliss: the state of enlightenment\, of buddhahood. This state of mind is free from disturbing emotions and expresses itself through peace\, happiness and active compassion. \n“Knowing that the mind’s afflictions are overcome through penetrating insight suffused with stable calm\, you should first seek the peace of calm abiding\, which is found in joy and non-attachment for the world.” – Śāntideva \nBuddha Shakyamuni transmitted teachings to Maitreya and Manjushri\, and respectively to Asanga and Nagarjuna\, who then transmitted them to the two Lamas\, Serlingpa (Suvarnadvipi-Dharmakirti of the Golden Isles) from Indonesia and Rikpekouyouk (Vidyakokila the Elder). These two teaching lineages were united in the 11th century by the Indian Master\, Atisha Dipamkara\, who devoted himself for seventeen years to the Dharma and the people of Tibet. He in turn transmitted the teachings to his principal spiritual son\, the Tibetan master Dromtonpa. These instructions outlined the fundamentals of the path\, namely calm-abiding (shamatha) and special insight (vipassana). Atisha wrote the original text\, A Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment\, in which he extracted the essence of teachings of the Buddha and organized 84\,000 sutras into a clear\, step-like arrangement that makes it easy for an individual practitioner to understand and practice the Dharma. This genre of teachings is known as Lamrim\, or steps of the path. These were then carefully preserved and passed on in an interrupted lineage of masters to Lama Tsongkhapa (1357-1419). The Gelugpa (Gelug or Yellow Hat) school of Tibetan Buddhism practices revolve around the teachings of Atisha and Tsongkhapa. The 14th Dalia Lama\, His Holiness the Tenzin Gyatso follows the Gelugpa school. Brana received transmission of teachings in this lineage from a Tibetan Lama. \nRead MORE. \nFees= $250+tax\nE-transfer $287.42 to transfer@divineyu.com[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Don’t miss the first one. \nChakras are our energy centers\, which function like receivers and transformers of the various forms of life energy. We usually use only 5 to 40% of our chakra’s capacity. If the chakra energies are blocked\, the basic life force will be slowed down. Not only will physical bodily functions be affected so diseases may manifest\, but the thought processes and the mind may also be affected. The Tibetan monks and yogis dedicate their entire lives to developing the chakras such is the importance they place upon of this aspect of development. As a result\, and in conjunction with the mind power\, they enjoy powers and abilities that would be considered “supernatural”. Classical Greek ideas about the chakras are contained in the writings of Plato and alluded to in the teachings of Pythagoras. \nChakra is a Sanskrit word\, meaning\, “wheel.” The human chakras are “wheel-like” vortices. The seven primary chakras are located along a central vertical axis of our spine. As one’s development advances\, their chakra energies extend further from the body. \nDivineYu: (514) 999-4018 or info@divineyu.com \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”30″ css=”.vc_custom_1550474178416{margin-top: 30px !important;margin-bottom: 40px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1550473607493{margin-top: 10px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”] \nOpening of the First Chakra \n[/vc_column_text][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3417″ title=”Mūlādhāra Chakra Mūla” description=”Root\, Origin\, Essence Ādhāra = Basis\, Foundation”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1631739028663{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”] \nMūlādhāra Chakra\nMūla = Root\, Origin\, Essence\nĀdhāra = Basis\, Foundation\nAnatomical position: Coccygeal plexus. Lord Brahma\, the creator of the universe in the ancient scriptures\, and Lord Vishnu\, the preserver of the universe in these scriptures\, are depicted sitting in a lotus. According to ancient scriptural text which details the life of Gautama Buddha\, “the spirit of the best of men is spotless\, like the new lotus in the [murky] water which does not adhere to it.” When the Buddha nature (spiritual nature) develops on the inner\, the lotus unfolds and blossoms. This is why the Buddha is depicted sitting on a blooming lotus. \nKundalini Awakening\nKundalini is an evolutionary force that awakens as part of our spiritual evolution. In yogic theory\, it is a primal energy or Shakti. In the Christian tradition it is referred to as the Holy Spirit. In the Kabbalistic tradition it is known as Shekhina energy. Kundalini is the inner force that opens us to bliss and the Source connection. In modern commentaries\, Kundalini has been called “mother energy or intelligence of complete maturation”. \nKundalini is accelerating our shift in consciousness and is a prerequisite for self-realization. When it is awake in us\, we see and feel the life force within ourselves and then evolve to see and feel it in all people\, animals\, plants\, and the living planet itself. As we honor this energy and elevate it\, it reconnects and brings us into balance with all that is. Kundalini is considered the energy of the Divine as it is experienced in the individual\, it liberates us when we return this energy to its divine origin. \nThe word “Kundalini” generally refers to that dimension of energy that is yet to realize its potential. The Kundalini awakening or rising means you have found the technology of tapping into that energy. When we tap into this dimension of energy\, we must be well grounded and well guided. \nThe chakras are the focus of many forms of holistic therapies practiced today. Classical Greek ideas about the chakras are contained in the writings of Plato\, and alluded to in the teachings of Pythagoras and in the Hermetic traditions. Plato\, who lived in the fifth century B.C.E. taught that our soul consists of:\n1-Epithymia: desire or instinct (masses\, stomach- 1st and 2nd chakras);\n2-Thymos: righteousness and passion (warriors\, chest- 3rd\, 4th and 5th chakras):\n3-Logos: wisdom and intuition (philosophers\, head- 6th and 7th chakras). The third eye chakra was called in Greek Enkephalos or in Latin Cerebrum. This center Plato considered to be the seat of the psyche\, or immortal soul\, which the Romans called the genios or anima. The Sanskrit name for this chakra\, Ajna\, means\, “Command Center”. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550519470487{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/4″][academia_icon_box icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3014″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1585421647365{margin-top: 30px !important;}”] \nGM Brana\, Teacher\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1550519368625{margin-bottom: 40px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]Additional Reading: The Truth about Our Energy Centers [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”3448″ img_size=”800×400″ style=”vc_box_shadow_border” css=”.vc_custom_1550527084027{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column_text] \nKundalini Awakening\nKundalini is an evolutionary force that awakens as part of our spiritual evolution.

We’ll use the original Sanskrit symbols to open the chakras. \n“To master the Avatar state you must open all the chakras.” From The Last Airbender movie. \nOn Tuesdays 7pm-8 pm \nLearn how to: \n√ Boost your energy level\n√ Improve your well being\n√ Live a harmonious life\n√ Reach your full potential\n√ Enable your body to heal rapidly\n√ Improve your relationships\n√ Develop leadership and creativity\n√ Attract abundance \nOctober 18\, root chakra\, Archangel Uriel\, earth – discover the right path\nOctober 25\, sacral chakra\, Archangel Gabriel\, water – acquire wisdom\nNovember 1\, solar plexus chakra\, Archangel Michael\, fire – let go of things that you no longer need\nNovember 8\, heart chakra\, Archangel Raphael\, air – heal with compassion\nNovember 15\, throat chakra\nNovember 22\, third eye chakra\nNovember 29\, crown chakra\nDecember 6\, Kundalini \nWeekly Meditation = $25+tax / meditation\n8-week package\, if purchased in advance = $88 (taxes included)\nThank you!\nRepeating the chakra opening classes is also $88 (taxes included) \nFIRST CHAKRA: Mūlādhāra Chakra\,\nMūla = Root\, Origin\, Essence & Ādhāra = Basis\, Foundation.\nImpacts life energy\, life enthusiasm\, decisiveness\, grounding\, and energy of all 7 chakras.

\nDivineYu: (514) 999-4018 or info@divineyu.com \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”30″ css=”.vc_custom_1550474266612{margin-bottom: 40px !important;background-color: #f8fafb !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1550476613900{margin-top: 10px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”] \nOpening of the Crown Chakra. Opening the Lotus of 1000 petals (spiritual realization step). \n[/vc_column_text][academia_icon_box layout_style=”style4″ icon_type=”image” icon_image=”3423″ title=”Sahasrāra Chakra Sahasrāra” description=”Thousand\, Infinite”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1631739371105{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-right: 20px !important;margin-left: 20px !important;}”]7th Chakra: Sahasrāra Chakra\nSahasrāra = thousand\, infinite\nAnatomical position: Upper part of cerebral hemispheres.
